whoops, a DD! well that's a nice christmas present

seriously, thanks a lot for the nice feedback guys!

oh and also a big thank you to ~ZaneAsylum for suggesting and ^Gashu-Monsata for featuring!

move your mouse from one side to the other.

a cloud movement study.
you can use this as a reference for example when you animate clouds.

however.

facts
- what you see here are 16 minutes and 27 seconds of clouds passing by.
- interactivity made in flash (as always..)
- scrolling backwards quickly may be a bit laggy because the flashplayer doesn't like playing a video backwards, but it still works.
- looks better when you move your mouse slowly
- cranberrysauce.

use it, but don't steal it. simple.

clouds - interactive reference by ~OctoFlash. The most useful thing any artist can have is reference, and with this neat tool, you can observe how clouds move by scrolling backwards and forewards! This tool is, in particular, indispenseable for animators as they can observe in realtime how the clouds move and roll into eachother, whilst being able to control the speed and where they want it to stop. A simple, yet essential reference source for making believeable animated clouds that might be more of a challenge to animate, but will assist in creating impressive results! My friend is convinced this is supposed to simulate panning across the sky from left to right because the text follows the clouds. Could you please confirm/deny this?

nope, the clouds were moving from right to left.

did you win the bet now? :D

It also is helping a traditional artist like myself. I was having difficulty trying to figure out the general idea of cloud formations. I was usually just doing a bunch of very loose lines in the darker area. But now I'm understanding more of the actual movements of the clouds. With that I can make more realistic looking ones.

Its like a dance, and it is so funny how such an ordinary thing as a cloud which we see everyday can be soooo mesmerizing when watched in details. Nature is amazing! So i thank you for capturing such an ordinary thing and turning it into extraordinary! Hats off to you!
